Every season, we have new and reoccurring group classes taking place at our Nyack and Tappan locations. We have classes for all ages and interests, including rock bands, choir, art studio, film and TV show, video editing, podcasting, musical theatre and so much more!

Take a break from the ordinary with a six week, summer session Hot Wheels class! Coach Rick has an extensive Hot Wheels collection with a huge inventory of cars, tracks, sets and more! Come be part of the team of builders and racers as we have a great time sharing our love of everything Hot Wheels and exploring basic principles of STEM.

Participants will act out fun stories both from books and from their favorite shows and movies.

Students will learn how to play a variety of musical instruments using a personalized approach. Students don't have to know which instrument they want to play when they start. Staff will help explore and find what they'd like to learn. Participants will learn basic music skills including rhythm, melody and harmony as well as music theory. The goal is for each individual to make playing music a meaningful part of their lives both individually and with others. Social music making opportunities will be explored when they are ready and interested.

Nothing is better than playing music together! Participants will learn the basics of making music in a group including playing together with a steady beat, group singing and movement to music. A variety of songs and musical activities will reinforce skills learned. Participants will learn to play bongos, congas, maracas, rhythms sticks and more. No prior skills necessary.

This season of MFL’s own TV show will focus on the “Funny Commercials” and "Voices Overs" this semester. Learn how to write, act, shoot video, edit and produce a TV show. Participants will share their talents in front of and behind the camera. Participants will learn technology that they can use at home to make their own videos.

MOVIE MAKING CLASS - SESSION #1

Let’s make a movie! Participants will build acting and filmmaking skills. They will learn how to memorize lines, portray feelings and a character through video, film scenes and work together. The class will film the screenplay written in our Winter and Spring sessions at Music For Life. *Participants must take BOTH SESSION #1 and #2 in order to be in this class.*
Goals: Acting, videotaping, and working together.

The goal is for them to make playing music a meaningful part of their lives both individually and with others. Social music making opportunities will be explored when they are ready and interested.
