Fun, social and challenging arts-based programming for children, teens and adults. ALL SKILLS, ABILITIES and CHALLENGES WELCOME. Through music, art, theater and movement, our students build valuable functional and arts skills and form meaningful relationships.
We serve people who are developing typically as well as those with developmental delays, developmental disabilities, autism, ADHD, social and emotional challenges, TBI from illness or injury, Alzheimer’s and dementia, and those going through difficult life transitions and more.
Open to all in the community.

Individual Music Therapy
Learn to build important functional skills through music including language and communication, self confidence, focus and attention, memory and social-emotional skills

Individual Music Lessons
Learn to sing, play an instrument, write and record songs with a personalized approach
Music Lessons Description: Students will learn how to play a variety of musical instruments using a personalized approach. They will learn basic music skills including rhythm, melody and harmony as well as music theory. The goal is for them to make playing music a meaningful part of their lives both individually and with others. Social music making opportunities will be explored when they are ready and interested.

Individual Art Lessons
Experience the joys of creating art while exploring a variety of art mediums with a personalized approach
Art Lessons Description: Students will explore a variety of mediums as they learn to express themselves through art. They will explore painting, drawing and collage. They will increase their skills in using art materials and in understanding how color, shape and image express different ideas, thoughts and emotions. Projects will include 2 and 3 dimensional work.
FEES: $60/30 mins, $85/45 mins, $120/60 mins

MFL’s always popular PODCAST CLASS returns with a 9 week segment on ……artists, entertainers and musicians! We will interview a variety of artists and performers as we continue to develop interviewing skills and knowledge about careers in the arts.

Design AND publish your own comic strip! Learn how to draw characters and comic strips. Develop graphic art and communication skills. Participant art work will be assembled into Music For Life’s first comic book.

Learn how to make a music video using recordings of popular songs OR sing your own song! Build confidence and communication skills. Participants will learn how to engage audiences through singing, dancing and video editing.

Be in on the ground floor of MFL’s first original musical!!! Participants will learn the elements of storytelling as they write the story for a musical! The Wednesday Song Writing Class will write the songs to go with the play. The musical will be performed at Music For Life at a date TBD.

Learn how to move like an entertainer in this fun exercise class! Participants will learn dance steps from popular performers including The Temptaions, BeeGees, Madonna, Michael Jackson and others. This is a great class for anyone wanting to move AND for musicians to learn how to move on stage.

Let’s make some animation! Participants will create with super user friendly apps available on smart phones to make their own stop motion animated videos. Videos will be featured on The MFL TV Show at 12:45pm. They’ll learn skills they can use at home and with their friends.

Participants will learn all about playing music with their friends in duos, trios and more. They will learn how to choose, learn and write songs. They will learn how to set up and use sound equipment and prepare for a performance/recording session. And above all, they will have fun playing music with each other!
